Topher Grace stars in ‘Take Me Home Tonight,’ new on DVD

What’s Topher Grace been doing since “That ’70s Show” ended? Mainly co-writing and co-producing this overlooked 1980s romantic comedy about post-college indecision.

Filmed in 2007, it wasn’t released until this year.

It deserved better, if only for Grace’s witty main character. Sparkling, skinny and stuck working at Suncoast Video, he tries to work up the nerve to talk up his high school crush during one wild night.

The rest of the main cast is uneven. Anna Faris keeps it loose as Grace’s twin sister, but Chris Pratt isn’t believable as her jerk boyfriend. Even more annoying is Dan Fogler as Grace’s idiotic best friend. Yet Teresa Palmer, Grace’s real-life on-and-off girlfriend, is surprisingly natural as the girl of his dreams.

The film’s ’80s references and soundtrack are tops.

In Photos: Topher Grace and Richard Gere filming ‘The Double’ in Northville, MI

Yesterday, Topher Grace and Richard Gere filmed scenes for their upcoming movie, The Double, in Northville, MI. Topher had to hold a baby for one shot and from the looks of it he hadn’t been around too many infants! He also stopped and chatted with several fans throughout the day and everyone commented that both he and Gere were very friendly.

Today, they continue filming in a residential neighborhood at the intersection of Eaton and Grandview in Northville. If you have stop by the set, let us know about it at olv@onlocationvacations.com!

Re-Grand Opening and New Theme at Topher Grace Daily!

Hey guys i am really really sorry for having the site on haitus and revamp. I wanted to redo the layout completely because the other one was just too boring for me. And so i would like to let everyone know that i am back to updating Topher Grace Daily!. I will never give up on this site because i love it too much and i love Topher with all my Heart <3

Darien’s Topher Grace Set to Film in Greenwich, Instead

Darien’s Topher Grace is among a star cast streaming into Greenwich this summer as filming for director Justin Zackham’s The Wedding gets under way.

The picture — previously given a working title of Gently Down the Stream — also features Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Robin Williams, Susan Sarandon, Amanda Seyfried, and New Canaan’s Katherine Heigl.

According to FirstShowing.net, the flick “tells the story of a long-divorced couple who, for the sake of their adopted son’s wedding and his biological mother, pretend they are still married.”

Though Greenwich isn’t far down the road, its starring role in The Wedding may come as a disappointment to some Darien residents. In May, Grace indicated during an appearance on TBS’s Conan that the movie would be filmed in his hometown.

“I’m going to live there this summer. I’m gonna sleep in the bunk bed,” Grace joked.

But producer Clay Pecorin told the Greenwich Board of Selectmen on Thursday that plans to film some scenes in Darien had fallen through, and that “100 percent of the movie will be shot in Greenwich.”

Pecorin came before the selectmen for permission to film several pool scenes at Greenwich’s Burning Tree Country Club during the overnight hours, something normally prohibited by the town’s curfew on movie shoots.

According to Pecorin, the cast’s and the country club’s schedules had necessitated a late filming session. But his company, Two Ton Films, had received permission from all of the club’s neighbors for an overnight shoot on July 29, he said.

The board unanimously approved the request.

“We certainly applaud your efforts. I certainly do not have issue with it,” First Selectman Peter Tesei said.

Filming is set to wrap up by Aug. 22, Pecorin said, and the picture is expected to be released in 2012.
